Pension Life Certificate 2026: Submit It From Home by 30 November

A pension life certificate can mean a bank visit, a queue and help from a family member. This November, eligible pensioners have another route: the Jeevan Pramaan Digital Life Certificate (DLC), including face authentication on a compatible smartphone. The government’s fifth nationwide DLC campaign runs through 30 November 2026 in more than 2,000 cities and towns.

The campaign period is a useful reminder to act. Your particular life-certificate validity and submission requirement depend on your pension authority, so confirm the applicable rule rather than assuming every pensioner has the same deadline.

Who can use Jeevan Pramaan?

According to the official Jeevan Pramaan FAQ, the pension sanctioning authority must be onboarded. The service uses Aadhaar or VID and pension details, including the Pension Payment Order (PPO) number, pension account and relevant pension authority. Incorrect details can cause rejection. Check eligibility on the official portal or with your pension disbursing agency before beginning.

The FAQ also notes that certain re-employed or re-married pensioners cannot use this DLC facility and should use the conventional submission route. If that may apply to you, confirm your position with your pension authority.

How to submit from home using face authentication

  1. Prepare your details. Keep Aadhaar or VID, PPO number, pension account information, mobile number and the names of your pension sanctioning and disbursing authorities nearby.
  2. Get the official apps. Use the Jeevan Pramaan download page for the current mobile app and its instructions. The official FAQ says Aadhaar Face RD service is needed for face authentication. Check that your phone meets the current app requirements.
  3. Enter and review the pension information. Match the PPO and account details to your pension records before submitting. A relative can help with the phone, but the pensioner’s own face must be authenticated.
  4. Complete the face scan. Follow the app’s prompts in good lighting. The face route uses the phone camera and does not require a separate fingerprint device.
  5. Keep the Pramaan ID. After successful authentication, note the acknowledgement and Pramaan ID so you can retrieve the certificate and check its status.

App screens can change. Follow the current instructions on the official portal rather than an old screenshot or an unofficial download link.

Check acceptance, not just generation

A generated DLC is sent electronically to the pension disbursing agency; the FAQ says you do not need to submit a paper copy to the bank or post office. However, generation alone does not settle an incorrect record. Use the Jeevan Pramaan portal to retrieve the certificate and check whether it was accepted. If it is rejected, contact your disbursing agency and correct the details as directed.

If a smartphone route does not work

The government campaign includes banks, post offices and local camps, with doorstep assistance where required. You can also use the official portal’s centre locator or ask your pension disbursing agency about the closest supported option. Jeevan Pramaan is an additional way to submit a life certificate; existing permitted methods remain available.

Before you finish: verify your pension details, retain the Pramaan ID and check the final certificate status. For help organizing pension income and tax filing records, contact Tax Filing Guru.
